Starting May 19, 2012 Dowd's work became a permanent display at the brand new gallery in beautiful downtown Tarpon Springs. He will continue to roll in new art pieces as he creates them, but currently almost the entire 3rd volume of 'Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy" collection is on display among other pieces from Volume 1 and 2.
The gallery is a perfect match for Dowd's work as he's been looking for old fashioned, quaint and historic places to display his work because it fits the feel of his style.
The gallery is located at 9 S Safford Ave., Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
Dowd's work was on display in Tarpon Springs from June 2011 to December 30, 2011 at Rudoplph's Art Gallery, which closed in December; located just down the street from Artistic Studio 30 gallery.
"This is huge for me, I love displaying my work where ever I can and this city, especially downtown, is beautiful. I've been looking for a place like this for my work since I started in 2009. I am so glad to find a permanent home for my work again in my home state. I'm always looking for other homes to display my work and places to exhibit. I took some time off at the end of 2011 and I am excited to see what new opportunities this year brings" says Dowd.
There is even rumors he will be a featured artist at the gallery soon, where he will do demonstrations and be the featured showing artist; but that is not set in stone yet.
In 2009 his series started out with "Death To Yesterday" which portrayed a powerful and meaningful dream that occurred after the death of his best friend. The series was accepted to "THAT GALLERY" later that fall taking it all the way to Hong Kong, China. Since then the series has been seen in San Diego, Atlanta, Macon, Tampa, Tarpon Springs and more. It was also featured on FOX 13's Good Day Tampa Bay.
Dowd is now on the 4th volume of this series which he promises to be even more creative than the first three volumes. One particular series of this collection he's working on are still scene by scene recreation of the Beatle's famous song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." He's also creating his own toy doll series shoots with various women playing various characters.
Besides this series he's also working on his new Minimalism, Reality and Earth Angel collections.
