Follow on Google News | BBC National Orchestra of Wales’s season closes with evening of music at the Brangwyn HallBBC National Orchestra of Wales’s season of concerts at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall draws to a close on Saturday 23 June, with an evening of exciting music inspired by stories and fantasies.
By: City and County of Swansea The concert will be conducted by the Orchestra’s Principal Conductor, Thierry Fischer, whose six-year tenure at the helm of the Orchestra will conclude in August of this year. This concert will be his last in Swansea as Principal Conductor. Soloist for the evening will be the Argentinean- The concert also features music by Mozart, Berlioz and Massenet, before coming to a fiery close with Ravel’s La Valse – an overtly romantic waltz that depicts the decadence of a nineteenth-century dance. After the Orchestra’s June concert at the Brangwyn Hall, they will return to Swansea in October as part of the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts, and will launch their 2013 season with a special concert on 1 January to bring in the New Year.
