A native of New York, he is a graduate of Brown University and holds a master’s degree in strategic planning for critical infrastructure from the University of Washington. He is a qualified divemaster and is certified in trimix and technical diving. Hunt joined the Navy in 1985 and flew carrier attack jets during deployments to the Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Korea. Following his military service, Hunt flew commercial jets for a major international airline. He lives on Whidbey Island, Wash., with his wife and two children.
