“We wanted to create a high quality, no cost resource for stock video and motion graphics, that anyone can use with no strings attached” explains founder Tom Limb. “There’s a lot of stock media out there, either very expensive clips or low quality, so we created Videvo. As well as stock video, we’ll also be providing free motion graphics clips, such as backgrounds and lower third title templates, a service that no one else in the industry is currently offering. In doing this, we’re hoping to make high quality stock media accessible to everyone.”
All clips on the site will be provided in full 1080p HD, and in common video formats such as Quicktime’s .mov. The site also includes a video conversion feature, so a user can download a clip in their preferred format ready for editing. Clips are organised by categories, including popular subjects such as industry, transport, renewable energy and motion graphics.
“In the future we want to include a tutorials section and discussion forum, with the eventual aim of creating a community of video-makers supported by a vast library of free stock footage. At the moment we’re trying to drum up support, and create a following – we believe this is something everyone in the video industry can benefit from”
Videvo.net is due to go live on 1st July 2012. In the meantime, you can find out more information from the holding page at videvo.net, or follow updates on the videvo twitter page, http://www.twitter.com/
