Father's Day Event at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ

June 16, 2012 - PRLog -- According to yoursomerset.com, the Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have teamed up with the Somerset Medical Center Foundation to raise money for the fight against cancer with Prostate Cancer Awareness Day on Sunday, June 17, 2012, for the team’s 1:05 pm Father’s Day game against the York Revolution.

The game will feature all Patriots players and coaches wearing special edition game jerseys with a commemorative logo that will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center. The jersey auction will run through the end of the seventh inning. The highest bidder on each jersey will receive that jersey signed by the player or coach who wore it during the game.

The event is designed to create awareness for the fight against Prostate Cancer and the need for men to have prostate exams for early detection of the disease. The Somerset Medical Center will have information displays on the main concourse during the event and there will be a pre-game ceremony down on the field beginning around 12:40 pm.

This is the third time the Patriots are hosting a Prostate Cancer Awareness Day event, but the first time the event will take place on Father’s Day. The festivities will begin with a Fathers and Kids’ Catch down on the field at 11:00 am in which the first 500 groups will receive a baseball courtesy of Somerset Medical Center Foundation.

The first 1,000 Men in attendance will also receive a BBQ Apron courtesy of Somerset Medical Center Foundation.

There will be a Pre-Game Autograph Session with all the Patriots players and coaches beginning at 12:00 pm and all Dads and Kids get to run the bases after the game.
