By: Stavan Corbett

June 15, 2012 - PRLog -- In the race for University Board of Regents in District 4, current State Board of Education President, Stavan Corbett, has his eyes set on November and is campaigning for the upcoming election in November 2012. With 13 Regent seats in the State of Nevada, District 4 is one seat many Latino leaders would like to see Mr. Corbett win.

There is no Latino representation on the Board and he would be the first Latino ever to hold an elected seat on the Board of Regents.

Mr. Corbett has said, “Although I am well aware no Latinos have ever been elected to the board, my focus is on all the work we can accomplish together to improve higher education in Nevada for all citizens. As current Board of Education President I believe I will bring added value and experience to the Board."

Added Corbett: “Diversity is important when setting policies or procedures, implementing protocols or creating new ideas. The process is more fruitful and effective when you can communicate with your peers and hear their reasoning and thought process."

"Stavan is a sharp individual and has dedicated his profession to serving the community. he has the most experience and is clearly the most qualified Candidate for University Regents District 4," said Jay Matos, Campaign Adviser to Corbett.
