June 15, 2012 - PRLog -- FRISCO, Colo., June 15, 2012- The Town of Frisco kicks off it's annual BBQ Challenge on June 15th with more than 60 teams from across the country competing for the title as "Best Barbecuer." This year's attendees of the BBQ will enjoy the first-ever Bacon Burner, a 5k run on Saturday June 16th at 9:30am, complete with 300 pieces of free bacon to finish, sponsored by the Sporting News Grill restaurant in Frisco.  As always, the live music is open to the public as well as the traditional pig races.  Tickets for food and drink can be purchased online where there are no lines.

The BBQ Challenge collects many different tickets from visitors, of which are counted by the Women of the Summit non-profit group, following the event.  The winners of the BBQ Challenge enjoy a private whiskey tour from the Breckenridge Distillery and a chef demo. Proceeds of the BBQ go to many non-profit organizations, including scholarships for Summit High School students.

The Holiday Inn Summit County, the Town of Frisco's lodging partner, offers a $99 rate this year, including 10% off BBQ tickets, free shuttle service and breakfast for two.
