The HTC One X-We Explore The New Interface On This Model

The HTC One X is certainly one of the better device we have tested over the past few months and much of the appeal of this model lays with the excllent interface that it boasts.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 15, 2012 - One area of modern mobile phones that is often overlooked is the user interface.  Many consumers purchase a phone based on its design and features but many people fail to acknowledge that the interface determines how much enjoyment they get from using the phone.  We take a look at the excellent Sense UI that is featured on the new HTC One X.

HTC have used their Sense user interface on all of their smartphone released over the past three years.   The software is regarded as the most visually appealing available but earlier versions have often been complicated.  On the HTC One X the manufacturers have incorporated a new version that has been simplified so that it can deliver an excellent user experience as well as stunning visuals.  The layout is much the same as older version with user having seven individual homescreen where they can arrange their selection of applications and widgets.  When viewing these screens the next page can easily be viewed with a sideways swipe of the finger.  Even this very simple gesture feels great thanks to the lightning fast quad core processor employed by the phone.  Alternatively users can use a pinch motion to call up an overview of all seven screens, a method that is often much faster than scrolling through several separate screens.

We are delighted that the new version of Sense used by the HTC One X is as attractive as earlier versions of the software.  Animated widgets looks great on the large 4.7 inch screen and the new Roboto font works perfectly well with the icons to help the interface look very clean and modern.  One thing that has not changed is the Notifications Centre which can still be accessed with a simple downwards swipe on the screen.  It is entirely up to the user how many notifications are displayed but the centre can often look very crowded once the notifications start to build up.  It is therefore quite satisfying to be able to simply dismiss unwanted alert with a quick flick of the finger.  The setting of the phone no longer have their own icon and they are now also located within the notifications area of the phone which does seem a slightly strange place to put them.

The HTC One X is certainly one of the better device we have tested over the past few months and much of the appeal of this model lays with the excllent interface that it boasts.  Sense is well designed, visually stunning and delivers a great user experience.
