June 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Here is our pick of some of the top trends for kids designer clothes autumn/winter 2012.

Natural and Rodeo

Kids love the outdoors, and the trend for all things natural and earthy reflects their playful curiosity in the outdoors. Naturalistic prints such as the husky print by Stella McCartney make for fun pieces, with other popular animals for 2012 bears and foxes.

Accessories such as scout badges and orienteering equipment extend the theme into a philosophy that embraces the outdoors and activities such as adventuring and foraging. Waxed cottons work well with this theme and are functional clothes for active kids.  Kids designer brands also feature denim, leather and checked shirts for autumn/winter 2012.

American outfitters feature warm knits in cream and dark red alongside fake fur jerkins and shearling jackets in their preview for autumn/winter 2012, while Stella McCartney has deep brown dresses teamed with funky patterned snow boots for the festive season.

Pastels and Vintage

For a more nostalgic twist, embrace the autumn and winter season with its mists, snowfall and rose tinted skies in the way of pretty, whimsical pastels. Stella McCartney has a spotted two tone tutu dress in ethereal cream and mushroom, while I Pinco Pallino teams a beautiful dusky pink brocade dress with a mini shrug. Other gorgeous items from I Pinco Pallino include a ruffled pink coat and volume mushroom dress with ruffled edging.

Ethical designer Nixie uses sustainable and vintage fabrics to create beautiful childrenswear. Crocheted pale blue headbands and recycled sweaters in soft wintery colours are amongst the items for autumn/winter 2012.

Preppy and Punk

The trend for sophisticated preppy styles is given an uplift for autumn/winter 2012 with bold striped sweaters featuring alongside smart blazers and punk velvet jackets. Polos and floaty blouses for girls are teamed with skinny trousers and chunky boots for a look with class and attitude.

Tommy Hilfiger takes the preppy look and gives it a dash of playful outdoor fun. Khakis are livened up with polka dots, stripes, bright pinks, blues and bold checks.

Footwear

Traditional ugg boots are still in popular demand as evidenced by designers including Francomina Mini. Miss Blumarine adds a metallic edge with copper toned quilted boots. Monnalisa teams gold glitter trainers with cream legwarmers for a retro look, while Young Versace ups the ante with some seriously shiny bright blue shoes.

The metallic look is hot news for kids designer shoes, with other designers embracing the trend including I Pinco Pallino with gold sheen boots, Il Gufo with glittery dance pumps from and Bisgaard with a range of copper toned footwear.
