In this role, Tavelli will serve as the market leader in New Mexico, serving a vast array of current and prospective clients throughout the state. Prior to this position with McCarthy, Tavelli served as the Director of the Construction Industries Division for the state of New Mexico.

Tavelli spent 31 years with a New Mexico-based construction company, where he retired in 2006 as senior vice president. During his tenure there, he oversaw the construction of Isotopes Stadium, the Albuquerque Aquarium and Botanic Gardens, the restoration of Montezuma’s Castle (Las Vegas, NM) and the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (Santa Fe, NM), along with more than 100 other projects.
Tavelli has also served as construction manager for the Mesa del Sol New Urbanism Development south of Albuquerque and acted as owner’s representative for the Arch Diocese of Santa Fe on the construction of the Church of the Incarnation in Rio Rancho, NM. He also served as construction manager for the College of Santa Fe and as a conceptual estimator and constructability consultant for several of the major Albuquerque design firms as well as the City of Albuquerque.
Tavelli earned a bachelor’s degree of University Studies with a major in architecture from the University of New Mexico. He has served on the Ronald McDonald House Building Committee, the Albuquerque Green Build Task Force, the New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance, and the Samaritan Counseling Center Board of Directors.
