The new Samsung Galaxy Note offers the largest smartphone display on the market. At 5.3 inches the screen on this model nearly strays in tablet territory but it does deliver superb video playback, web browsing and mobile gaming. The Galaxy Note offers Super AMOLED technology meaning that the screen does not only produce incredibly vivid quality but also some great viewing angles a legibility in bright conditions. The model packs a huge resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels which when combined with the screens size means that an impressive pixel density of 285 PPI can be displayed. The new HTC One XL boasts some screen technology that is fairly evenly matched with the Galaxy Note. The model makes use of a Super IPS LCD" panel that also sports some wonderful quality for a mobile display. A resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels can be displayed by the device which means that the One XL tops the magical 300 mark for pixel density with a figure of 312 PPI. Although the HTC phone boasts a slightly better pixel density the large screen experience on the Samsung really does take some beating.

For screen technology there is little to choose between the Samsung Galaxy Note and the HTC One XL but thing are not quite so evenly matched when we take a look at storage capacity on the handsets. The Samsung model is available with two different internal capacities. The smaller of the two is 16GB which will probably prove the most popular option as the capacity is ample for many phone users. The larger 32GB version will be favoured by users who want to take full advantage of the HD video capture feature that is available. In addition to this both models can accept micro SD cards up to 32GB in size. The One XL also offers 16GB of internal storage although there is no larger option available. There is also no micro SD card option available on this model so users will need to make use of a cloud storage service in order to increase the capacity that is available.
As far as large screen smartphones go the Samsung Galaxy Note and the HTC One XL are two of the very best available. Both models offer some excellent screen technology that delivers fantastic results but the Samsung has the upper hand in terms of storage capacity.
