Former Notre Dame and NFL football player Oscar McBride reaches out to today's youth through his Fit4Life programs, using sport to teach children some of life's most important lessons.

Oscar McBride, former Notre Dame Fighting Irish and NFL tight end, established the Fit4Life Youth Foundation and is reaching out. Fit4Life has a clear and simple goal: to work with children and develop them into great human beings. Fit4Life couples the fight against childhood obesity with teaching character and integrity through sport.  McBride uses the platform of sports and his coaching role to convey life lessons to student-athletes, thereby promoting teamwork and developing leadership skills.

The Fit4Life Youth Foundation communicates its message through a series of sports programs for youth of all ages.   These programs enable participants to learn, grow, and flourish. The programs offered include football, basketball, and weight-training, among others.  There is something for everyone.

Fit4Life is also involved in international outreach. In 2010, McBride traveled to Uganda and used sport (American flag football) to serve as a mentor and teacher to the children in Uganda, East Africa.

McBride is also delivering Fit4Life’s message to parents. McBride teaches coaches and leaders of all experience levels how to promote sports in a positive manner while balancing winning and learning.  He has advice, tips, lessons, and many incredible experiences to share.
