June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Classical painter and sculptor, Machyar Kumbang, is featured on Kobina Wright’s blog, The Wrighter, along with several examples of his favorite paintings and sculptures.   Kumbang is the latest artist to participate in the blog’s summer series that pays tribute to the sale of an iconic painting by Edvard Munch, “The Scream.”

“Anyone who has seen me has seen one of the Old Masters. The techniques and principles I use are not just my own. Rather, they are the techniques and principles of the Old Masters (essentially it is God’s and given through them), living in me,” Kumbang says in his artist’s statement.

On The Wrighter (http://www.thewrighteronline.com/2012/06/featured-artist-machyar-kumbang.html) Kumbang answers five essential questions that Wright intends to ask most of the artists featured from May until the end of summer (2012).

When asked about what he thought about "The Scream" auctioning @ $120 million on May 2nd, Kumbang replied in part, “I wasn’t surprised considering the economy of the rich around the world. The art market arguably is in very good condition.”

The Wrighter is scheduled to feature two artists per week as the planned features are rolled out on the heels of the recent sell of one of Wright’s own paintings titled, “Newton’s Attraction,” which is part of her latest series of paintings from the Kobiphysics series.

Wright is a California native who earned her BA degree in Journalism from the California State University, Fullerton.  She has created several art series, including, “Fractured,”  “Cali Free,” “Eleven Twenty-Three Girl” and most recently, “Kobiphysics.”  Wright is also now a featured artist on the online gallery, America Fine Art (https://www.americafineart.org/Kobina).

Wright has also written several books, including, “50” and “A Crime And A Simplification Of Something Sublime,” the latter includes several of her sketches.  She has performed in theater productions, independent films and commercials and is currently working on a collection of poetry.
