"It means a great deal to me to be included among the state's most respected business women," said Foglio. "This honor recognizes all of our efforts at CIS to create high-quality affordable housing that enhances communities and creates opportunities for the people of New Jersey."
Finalists were selected by an independent committee from hundreds of entries, and judged in the areas of market potential, innovation, advocacy for women and community involvement. Finalists are then automatically submitted for phase two of the competition. Own It Ventures will be honoring the Top 25 New Jersey Leading Women Entrepreneurs for 2012 on December 6, 2012 at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
"I am very excited about the 2012 initiative in partnership with New Jersey Monthly Magazine that honors women business owners because women are the forerunners to the economic recovery of our state. Over the last twenty years, women have surpassed men at twice the rate for starting their own companies. Our joint project presents phenomenal exposure for their efforts and the issue that finalists are listed in will reach over 750,000 households,"
CIS distinguishes itself from its competition by providing in-house finance, development, construction and management services. These services, provided by CIS and its property management and construction divisions, are an extension of the company's commitment to build value-added communities for area residents, children, municipalities and local businesses by repositioning unproductive properties and land parcels.
Founded by Foglio in 1994, CIS is certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) by the New Jersey Economic Growth Commission. CIS is a leading fully integrated commercial real estate company, focused on multi-family housing, mixed-use redevelopments and market-rate and affordable housing. The company's diverse portfolio is valued in excess of $350 million.
