Freshwater Bay Golf Club Recognised by Prestigious GolfMark Scheme

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 14, 2012 - Freshwater Bay Golf Club is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious GolfMark Award from England Golf. GolfMark is a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities and is only given to those clubs who can prove their commitment through a rigorous assessment procedure that needs to be renewed every three years.

Receiving notification of the Award from Beverley Huke, County Development Officer for the Hampshire Golf Partnership, officials at the Freshwater Bay Golf Club were told that the information they provided was extremely comprehensive and “second to none”. The Club was assessed in three main areas: Coaching & Playing, Club Environment (including sports equity & ethics) and Child Protection & Duty of Care and passed all with flying colours.
As well as being a GolfMark Club, Freshwater Bay is also now affiliated with Sport England as a ClubMark facility. This is a national standard for quality sports clubs recognised across the country.

Talking about the Awards, Club Secretary Kevin Garrett says: “We have always encouraged junior membership and have a thriving and successful Junior Section here at the Club. It is of great credit to members of the team here at Freshwater Bay that we achieved these Awards and working towards accreditation helped us review our procedures and further raise our standards.”
