Save Britain Money group responds to the Government’s Green Deal and ECO statement

June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The Save Britain Money group (SBM) is a provider of Green Energy support services to households and businesses throughout the UK.
SBM are pleased to acknowledge that the Government has taken into consideration many of the concerns raised by the energy efficiency industry and the Fuel poverty sector, regarding the original proposals. As a result the Government has made appropriate alterations which should ensure that the forthcoming Green Deal and ECO rules will benefit all parties involved in the scheme.
The Government’s commitment to contribute substantial annual funding towards energy efficiency and heating measures to help eradicate fuel poverty will be of great benefit to many consumers.
Nationwide Energy Services (NES), which is one of the SBM brands, visits around 15,000 customers per week. Around 40% of them would currently be classified as living in Fuel Poverty.
SBM is dedicated to finding cost-effective and energy efficient ways to overcome fuel poverty, seeking to improve household’s wealth, health and well-being. The Government’s pledge to focus on supporting low income households living in hard to treat properties will allow us take major steps towards achieving this goal.
As we prepare for our entry into Green Deal as an approved assessors organisation and a Green Deal Provider, we are making considerable changes to our business models to ensure that we are ready for our entry point. We are developing strategic partnerships and supply chain mechanisms that are designed specifically to enable and facilitate the involvement of SME’s in all aspects of Green Deal delivery.
We are focusing on providing comprehensive energy efficiency and customer care training for all our staff to enable them to supply our customers with the most up to date information and advice on matters that will help them to improve their lives and protect the environment.
SBM will work with Government to overcome the current lack of awareness within the general public by publicising Green Deal and driving demand. We are committed to raising awareness of the Green Deal and ECO programmes and we are ready to drive the campaigns forward, encouraging consumers to make their homes more energy efficient while reducing their bills.
