Follow on Google News | Looking to take a school group to Africa?Malawi offers school trips the ideal mix of adventure, educMalawi is full of opportunities for school travel. School Travel Companies can help you find a linked school, arrange hiking and wildlife trips and organise leisure activities on Lake Malawi.
Link your school with a Malawian school or community then organize a trip to visit them in Malawi. Pen palling with a local Malawian school is an ideal way to get your school excited about their trip to Malawi. Organise fundraising nights for your group to raise money for their linked project and start building a relationship with a community before your visit to Malawi. Cultural exchanges are both rewarding and enormously educational for students. During your time in Malawi your group can help build a community centre, renovate classrooms or work side by side with the community to construct a feeding centre. Accommodation can be provided on site within the village community or nearby at a small lodge/hostel. Hiking and Adventure Activities in Malawi Mount Mulanje hikes are a great fundraising activity and group hikes can be organized from 2 nights to 7 nights incorporating some of Mulanje’s highest peaks (up to 3,000m). For the less experienced Zomba Plateau offers great hiking routes as well as mountain biking and horseriding activities. Our favourite School Travel Itinerary combines 10 days project work with three days on Mount Mulanje. Students climb the mountain as part of their fundraising for their linked project, one group raised over £20,000! Arriving early on day 1 the group spends the day hiking to Mulanje plateau (5-7 hours), stays the night in a small mountain hostel, cooking their food around the fire with their guides and porters. The next morning the adventurous head off to climb one of Mulanje’s 21 peaks before meeting the rest of the group and spending a second night in another mountain hut. The following morning the group return to base camp, exhausted but full of mountain air, experiences and stories! Lake Malawi Rest and Relaxation At the end of your School Trip to Malawi your group will be ready for some rest and relaxation. Lake Malawi offer groups the perfect mix of both! One of our favourite School Group Travel activities is kayaking to Domwe Island and spending the night cooking fresh fish on the beach before spending the night under canvas! The perfect end to a School Trip to Malawi. School Groups can choose to combine their project work with rest and relaxation on Lake Malawi. There are a number of community projects on the shores of Lake Malawi that school groups can link with. This combination means that at the end of a hard day’s painting you can take a dip in the cool fresh waters of Lake Malawi! The Responsible Safari Company. http://stephen- End
