Red Petal Press Pledges To Keep Consistent Content As Book Distribution Expands

In the news, readers contend that content in e-books is different than the print book versions. As print book and e-book versions become more widely available, Red Petal Press pledges to keep the content matching in both print and digital versions.

June 13, 2012 - PRLog -- The ease in updating e-book content in the in e-tail industry has some readers contending that the content received in e-books is different than the print book versions.

According to recent blog and opinion posts on major e-news outlets, this contention arises because of the ease in updating e-book content versus print. This publisher confirms the contention is highly plausible. But is the practice unscrupulous?

Mardou Case, owner of indie fiction publisher Red Petal Press says "If errors are found in the content after a book is in production, corrections are certainly easier to make in the e-book versions, but there may be simply a lag in updating the print book content, by the very nature of having books already printed and in the distribution streams. For publishers and distributors using a print-on-demand model for supplying hard copy books, the lag should be negligible. Differences in versions may result from rushing a product to market. Red Petal Press will always strive for quality. Are we perfect? No. But if errors in content are found, we try to make correction to all versions at the same time, so readers won't ever have to wonder if the content quality of one format significantly differs from another. This is especially important now that our books are also available in the U.K. and European countries."

Red Petal Press is currently publishing an assassin action series authored by Jason Lord Case, son to David F. Case known for his Gothic horror novels and westerns. The novels in THE MACMASTER CHRONICLES series thus far are HONORABLE ASSASSIN, KILLER TO DIE FOR, FALLEN STAR, and THE CASE OF THE PERSIAN PLAGUE, and are commercially available in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Europe.

The series is produced in both trade paperback and e-book. The digital editions are available in multiple formats for the most popular digital book reader and smartphone hardware. Print editions signed by the author are available at RedPetalPress.com.
