Added to “ColorIQ Academy’s” East Coast Conference

Providence, RI, June 10, 2012 – The ColorIQ Academy, an intensive training and certification course for architectural color consultants, interior designers, decorators, and other color professionals, has added Gloria Robertson, Certified Architectural Color Consultant and Retail Color Expert, as a presenter at their East Coast Conference in Providence, Rhode Island on September 7-10.

“This is a 3-level certification course for professionals, with over 100 hours of lectures, hands-on projects, color demonstrations, and online modules.” says Teresa Tullio, Director of the ColorIQ Academy and CEO of The Business of Color, a premier color training and design consulting firm based in San Diego, CA. “Our course teaches not only the science of color, but also the practical applications and best business practices of the color specialist.  We’re very happy to be able to add an instructor of Gloria’s calibre to this training conference.”

The ColorIQ curriculum provides color professionals with a path to begin or broaden their careers as a Certified Architectural Color Consultant, including a special track dedicated to retail, which Robertson will present. “It’s important to understand the impact color has on how shoppers feel about a retail environment,” said Robertson, “including whether they will buy or not.  We’re shedding light on how color fits into how retailers can go to market more successfully.”

Tullio says she has received requests for trained, certified architectural color consultants from all over the U.S.  “It’s incredible,” says Tullio. “Color is a very specialized field, and there are now more jobs out there than specialists to fill them.”

Seeing this need as an opportunity, Tullio has applied her 20+ years of experience as a color consultant, including over 5000 color consultations, to create one of the most thorough and comprehensive training programs in color education. “This is not some 2-day seminar for design hobbyists,” says Tullio. “Enrollees who complete our course and pass the exam achieve a CACC Level One Certification, earning the Certified Architectural Color Consultant designation.”

In addition to the standard curriculum, attendees can participate in a round table discussion with Robertson and take away valuable information specific to retail color which includes:  The Importance of Color and Design in Retail, The Functions of Color in Retail, Visual Perception of Retail Environments, Case Study Analysis and The Business of Color in Retail.
