Pivot Point instruction and Beauty School today

Pivot Point celebrates 50 years as it's teachings are practiced by Black Hills Beauty College in Rapid City, South Dakota.

PRLog - Jun. 13, 2012 - RAPID CITY, S.D. - In 1958, Leo Passage immigrated to America from the Netherlands with his wife, Lenie, and created a system of hairdressing education that is now taught in beauty colleges around the globe. Today that education is known as Pivot Point.

For fifty years Pivot Point has been a leader in beauty schools, training premier beauty professionals around the world. From hair designers to estheticians, to competition stylists and those who teach future professionals, their educational methods are trusted to provide a solid foundation for success in any beauty related education.

In 2012 they celebrate their 50th year of creativity; learning and empowerment. They carry with them a legacy of passion for education and the creative force of Pivot Point Founder Leo Passage. As they look to tomorrow and another 50 years, they are committed to continuing that legacy and exploring new enlightening frontiers.

At Black Hills Beauty College we are proud to carry on the teachings of Leo Passage. By using this curriculum, we are ensuring that our students are receiving the highest level of opportunity in their training. More on how Pivot Point influences the Black Hills Beauty College can be found at: http://www.bhbeautycollege.com/become/programs.php.

Through his interest in the Bauhaus principles of art and design, Passage saw how that movement’s ideas could be applied to teach hairdressing. In 1962, he opened the first Pivot Point Beauty School on the north side of Chicago. It is there that he developed and polished the system of hairdressing that has become the top standard in cosmetology education.

Holly Keszler, manager of Black Hills Beauty College in Rapid City, SD said, ”Leo Passage was a leader in the industry who showed that solid learning, a clear visualization of goals and a passionate desire to be the best will make you a front runner in the industry.” His legacy lives on in all Pivot Point educators and graduates in the best salons, spas and companies around the world, including Black Hills Beauty College.
