Christian Rock for Father’s Day

June 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Christian rock singer/songwriter John Michael’s journey to produce his debut album, Come to the Table, began a nearly a decade ago and now just in time for Father’s Day, John Michael releases “Come to the Table”.

The 10-track album showcases John Michael’s unique brand of Christian rock, an eclectic blend drawing from folk, classical, and rock of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Most of the songs on "Come To The Table" were originally written and performed by John Michael with the Southern California Christian rock band Vertical Hold.

This eclectic rock release contains elements from a broad range of influences including folk, AOR, grunge, punk, and contemporary worship.  John Michael’s music is a beautifully complex and layered sound, and all three elements - melody, lyrics and voice – are distinctive.  If James Taylor, the Beatles, and Bad Company birthed a musical prodigy-this would be the music.

Vertical Hold started as a house band for a weekly church service geared towards teens and young adults. Although the group received numerous accolades for its live performances, it never entered the recording studio. This album finally answers the request from fans for a recording of these songs.
