Biamp Systems Dialer App Wins 2012 AV Technology Magazine Award

Dialer App wins Best New App to Manage AV Systems and Tesira is finalist in Distance Learning Systems

June 13, 2012 - PRLog -- – Beaverton, OREGON – Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, today announced that AV Technology Magazine has named the Biamp Dialer App the Best New App to Manage AV Systems. The Dialer App (http://itunes.apple.com/no/app/biamp-dialer/id453557120?mt=8) was selected as a winner over a number of other submissions in the category and awarded the recognition as a part of last night’s AV Technology Awards Ceremony during the InfoComm Conference.

“More and more, people want to be able to use devices like the iPad at home and in the office,” said Steve Metzger, president of Biamp Systems. “The Dialer App gives users the ability to take their contacts with them everywhere and quickly setup a conference call when they need to. There was a lot of hard work that went into the development of this app, we’re happy to see it receive this level of recognition.”

The 2012 AV Technology Awards is an industry award program that recognizes outstanding AV end-users, tech managers, facility directors, and the product manufacturers that provide reliable, easy-to-operate, and forward-thinking products. The Application category showcases completed, real-world design/installation of integrated AV systems, including hardware, software, connectivity, etc. The Project category recognizes new hardware or software products that are easy to operate, provide return on investment, and equip a facility for technological evolution.

In judging the Biamp Dialer App against other entrants, one judge remarked, "The Biamp Dialer App is exactly what we need — no more hardware accessories or complex touch panel programming. This app makes sense for the user."

The Dialer App allows users to conveniently carry their conference settings with them anywhere and easily manage calls facilitated by Biamp's Audia and Nexia product lines. Using the app interface, users can access their contact list to initiate conference calls rather than using a dial pad and manually entering phone numbers. The app offers two level controls and has a speed dial function for even more convenience and control.

In addition to the Dialer App, Biamp Tesira (http://www.biamp.com/products/tesira/index.aspx) was named a finalist in the AV Technology Awards. Tesira is Biamp’s first digital signal processor (DSP)-based networked media system to use AVB as the primary digital media transport. Tesira improves programming efficiency by allowing for system configuration in a partitioned approach, making it possible to design, configure, update and maintain distinct portions of a system without affecting those that are currently in use, and without having to reconfigure the entire system.

The Biamp Dialer is available in the Apple App Store℠ for $5.00. For the latest Biamp news and information, visit the Biamp blog, http://biampsystems.wordpress.com/ or follow along on Twitter, https://twitter.com/Biamp.
