4/12/2012…iFame TV, now airing on ROKU (in the music section) and virally on http://www.ifametv.com, welcomes the legendary dance show “Dancin’ on Air” which later became “Dance Party USA” and was aired nationwide on the USA network throughout the 80’s. iFame TV will be airing both the classic 80’s episodes plus brand new episodes that were produced the past few months.
“I used to watch ‘Dancin’ on Air’ religiously as a kid. I remember it was the coolest show on TV. It’s an honor to add both the new and the old episodes to our network” says iFame TV CEO Rob Schwartz. “It’
s amazing how watching some of the classic episodes and then watching the brand new episodes show me that after 30 years, the show hasn’t missed a step!”
A young Kelly Ripa and Tom Verica were both regulars on the show as kids. While the classic shows features performances such as Madonna, Will Smith, Duran Duran (first TV appearance ever), Menudo, Stevie Wonder, The Jets, New Edition, LL Cool J, Jody Watley, New Kids on the Block, Nine Inch Nails, and many others, the new episodes features a brand new crop of talented performers such as Dacav 5, Joe Zangie, Nicole Kerrigan, Tina DeCara, Mykl John, Clyde Evans, Jr., and more.
On Air’ set the stage then and now, especially with the renewed interest in dance,” said creative director/executive producer Michael Nise. “Now with new media, we now bring it worldwide. I was told in the past by ‘the experts’ people aren’t interested watching kids from Philly dance, but for 12 years, ‘Dancin’ On Air’ and ‘Dance Party USA’ proved ‘the experts’ wrong. The NEW “Dancin’ On Air” will do it again!”
ROKU is the leading IPTV/Smart TV box reaching over 3,000,000 households nationwide. With over 400 free channels, ROKU is one of the major reasons IPTV has been quickly taken over traditional cable.
