PCT® Law Group Partner Raymond Millien Named One Of World’s Leading IP Strategist

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 12, 2012 - Washington, DC – June 12, 2012 – PCT Law Group, PLLC today announced that Raymond Millien, Co-Founder, has been named to Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine’s list of the World’s 300 Leading IP Strategists.

Intellectual Asset Management (www.iam-magazine.com) is produced in London by the IP Media Group Ltd and reports on
intellectual property (IP) as a business asset. The publication’s core readership comprises senior executives in IP-owning companies, corporate counsel, private practice lawyers and attorneys, licensing and technology transfer managers, and investors and analysts.

The IAM 300 Strategist selection process was described by the magazine, as follows: “Over the course of five months, IAM researchers spoke to a wide range of leading IP professionals in order to identify people considered to be world-class IP strategists: men and women whose business is the creation, development and deployment of strategies that enable IP rights owners to gain maximum value from their portfolios. In 2007, Mr. Millien co-founded PCT Law Group, PLLC. Prior to PCT, Mr. Millien was General Counsel of Ocean Tomo, where he was responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory affairs, as well as managing all legal aspects of innovations such as the world’s first live IP auction and the first patent-based financial index. Prior to Ocean Tomo, Mr. Millien was VP and Group IP Counsel at American Express Company where he managed the company’s global patent portfolio and led brand and technology outward-licensing deals.  (In December 2011, it was announced that he was selected to manage the American Express IP Zone.)

Mr. Millien, who was also named one of the inaugural IAM 250 in 2009, received his B.S. from Columbia University and his J.D. from The George Washington University. He is admitted to the DC, FL, IL, NY, VA, and U.S. Supreme Court bars, is registered to practice before the USPTO, and is a Certified Licensing Professional (LES).  He served as a national lecturer for the BAR/BRI® Patent Bar Review course for over a decade, and has coauthored two books: Little Blues: How to Build a Culture of Intellectual Property within a Small Technology Company (Euromoney 2006); and From Finals to the Firm: Top Ten Things New Law Firm Associates Should Know (Matthew Bender 2003; 2nd ed. West 2009).
