Cullman County Museum to Participate in Blue Star Program

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 12, 2012 - CULLMAN, ALABAMA (June 12, 2012) – Today, the Cullman County Museum in Cullman, Alabama, is pleased to announce membership in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,500 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2012. Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The complete list of participating museums is available at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

“We are so pleased to be a part of the Blue Star Museum program so that we can show our support for these active duty military personnel and their families, and we hope that this becomes a great opportunity for many more people to enjoy the Cullman County Museum,” curator Elaine Fuller said about the Cullman County Museum joining Blue Star Museums.

The Cullman County Museum, located at 211 2nd Avenue NE, just across from City Hall, recently launched a brand new Civil War Exhibit to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War. The museum also features numerous other exhibits throughout, including the Archeological Room, sponsored by the Cullman County Archeological society, and the Colonel Cullman Room.
