Follow on Google News | Richard E. Grant To Bring World-class Show To Guildford CathedralTriqueta, a new concept in entertainment combining traditional orchestral performance with dazzling staging, world-class performers and Richard E. Grant as narrator, will make its UK debut on Saturday 16 June at the Guildford Cathedral.
By: The PR Farm Described as War of the Worlds meets Riverdance, Triqueta follows the heritage of the Celts from its dawn to the present day and promises a night of adventure, colour and spectacle. Featuring its own 40-piece orchestra, a rock band plus the lead guitarist from Son’s of Icarus and a full choir and supporting cast of dancers and singers, Triqueta will debut at Guildford before embarking on a cathedral-only tour of the UK. Triqueta also stars ITV’s Zoe Tyler (How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, Daybreak) as lead vocalist, Lumina the laser violinist, the world-class aerial act Valerie, Andrew Playfoot, Neil Couperthwaite, Shonna Damms and Jacqueline Hughes (Wicked). Richard E. Grant, who will be taking to the stage as the show’s narrator, comments: “Triqueta is a masterful blend of Celtic heritage that in one night creates a spectacle for the senses. The show is underpinned by a strong narrative and captivating music, which push the boundaries and takes the audience on a celebration of rich history, incredible stories and the magic of creation.” Triqueta features an original score by composer and music producer, Joe O’Connor, and is directed and choreographed by Jerry Robinson. Joe O’Connor comments: “Triqueta provides an original alternative to conventional musical theatre and challenges the status quo, which for too long has seen countless films turned into stage shows. Theatre needs to be bolder, braver and more interesting and I feel that Triqueta will help lay the foundations for a new genre, give the theatre-going public something fresh and exciting and make the most of the UK’s cathedrals.” Tickets are £35 for the Front Nave and £28 for the Rear Nave & West Gallery. They are available at www.ticketweb.co.uk or by calling 08444 771000. For more information please visit www.triqueta- End
