Photographer Carlos Jones publishes a book benefitting testicular cancer research

ATLANTA, GA (June 2012) Atlanta-based photography maven Carlos Jones is debuting his inaugural book publication, Sneakers. The book, scheduled for release in September 2012, is described as a fine art collection of crisp, creative, and strong artistic-nude images of athletic men. A portion of all proceeds from Sneakers sales will go to the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation to help fund research initiatives.

Photography and philanthropy at its finest is what viewers worldwide can expect with the launch of the Sneakers project. Carlos is a veteran as it relates to capturing the finesse of the male form. Inspired by Herb Ritts’ book, Work, Carlos envisioned a collection of images that showcased the male form but adds a twist by having each model featured in a pair of sneakers. Influenced by the loss of his grandfather to cancer in 2005, Carlos chose to benefit the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation with a percentage of sales from this venture. Testicular cancer is the leading cancer found in men ages 15-35. Carlos was also inspired to do this project after doing a test photo shoot last year of fitness model Lance Forrest, who serves as the Project Manager/Model Scout for this project.

To-date as a photographer, Carlos has garnered much respect and notoriety from industry enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Sneakers is more than just a publication but it is a tool with which he will globally express his passion, purpose and motivation as it relates to the essence of who he is as an artist.  

“I want the viewer of the book to observe sleek, athletic monochromatic images of the male form while being captivated by the vivid sneakers in which they are wearing,” says Carlos.

Carlos Jones is an Atlanta-based photographer who specializes in men’s fashion and editorial photography. Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and also has completed post baccalaureate courses at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD).
