Mud Factor Michigan, a 5k Obstacle challenge run set for June 30 at Baja Acres motocross park in Millington MI, organizes an event related shoe drive to raise funds for Helping Heroes Kids, a local charity organization.

June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Mud Factor hardcore 5K Obstacle Challenge, a national mud run series scheduled to make its Michigan debut in Millington on June 30, has announced its partnership with the local charity Helping Heroes Kids. The fitness and entertainment event is set to take place at Baja Acres motocross park, and is expected to draw thousand of adventure runners and spectators for an action packed day of DJ's, food, beer, mud, and camaraderie.

After every Mud Factor 5K Mud Run,  participants donate their muddy shoes in a charity drive that generates revenue for the selected organization. Helping Heroes Kids is a Veteran run 501.c3 non profit corporation that strives to provide educational assistance or camp opportunities to the children of our Nations fallen heroes.  Donated shoes will be collected, sorted, and bagged by onsite event volunteers, then redistributed globally by GreenSneakers, an organization who will make a monetary contribution to Helping Heroes Kids for each pair of shoes donated.  Both participants and spectators may contribute to the shoe drive, and shoes may be dropped off at the event site prior to the Mud Factor hardcore 5K run during the week.  Monetary donations will also be collected for this worthy cause.

Mud run participants can expect an endorphin releasing full fitness workout, leveraging agility, stamina, and strength against punishing mud bogs, daring vertical water slide drops, demanding ropes courses, and ridiculous obstacle challenges, including the infamous "Triple Threat" cargo climb.  Mud Factor is open to runners 18 years of age and older, and costumes and group participation is highly encouraged.

Spectators are welcome at the festival zone and are free of charge.  There is a $10 parking fee per vehicle at the gate.   Registration for all participants is required at http://www.MudFactor.com.  Current entry fee is $65, and advanced online  registration closes on June 20th.  There may be limited opportunities for late registration the day of the event for an additional fee.   All Mud Factor hardcore 5K mud run participants will receive a Mud Factor bandanna, and those that complete the event will proudly earn a collectible mud run finishers medal and an ice cold beer (21+).
