With the entry proceeds benefiting The Hero Campaign, The New York Mocktail Drink Competition will be for the best non-alcoholic bar drink created by 20 of the industry’s best Mixologists, utilizing Ocean Spray Cranberries various products.
The John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers has a simple goal: To encourage more people to become sober designated drivers in order to reduce the number of drunken driving fatalities and injuries in our nation. With this in mind, promoting The New York Mocktail Drink Competition creates an atmosphere where customers wanting to be responsible can have fun drinking a non-alcoholic drink and not be left out of the fun.
Here is how the competition works. The 20 pre-chosen mixologists will be required to mix their drinks on the Show floor and be judged by 3 expert Judges. They will have 5 minutes to create their drink. Winners will be judged on overall impression, originality, appearance, aroma and taste. Winners will receive:1st Place winner-$1,000;
A call for recipes will go out by May 5, 2012 to thousands of bars and restaurants for recipe submissions by their mixologists. A $10 charge per recipe will be required and entire amount will be donated to The Hero Campaign.
