June 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Squalls stretched along much of the Panhandle over the weekend leaving many flooded homes and roadways in the Pensacola Beach area but not Panama City Beach.  Panama City Beach Florida has been unscathed by the storms.   Though there have been clouds in the area throughout the weekend and on into the start of this week, Panama City Beach has received very little rain.  Yesterday it started raining at about 3:45 in the afternoon and was done raining around 45 minutes later, though it was heavy, the rain was very short lived.

Panama City Beach locals, hotels, and restaurants prepared for the worst this weekend but those preparations proved unnecessary.  “Just because the Weather Channel calls for heavy rains doesn’t mean it rains on our parade.  We still have plenty of fun activities and entertainment throughout the day - even if our area is experiencing unfavorable weather - as we are always prepared to move our activities inside and make sure that our guests were still able to enjoy their vacation experience.” Says Philip Colvin, Director of Marketing at the Holiday Inn Resort.  “While our thoughts and prayers are to the neighbors to the west of us in the Pensacola area who are dealing with flooding issues, we are very happy to report that our guests were still able to enjoy a great beach vacation here in Panama City Beach.”

As of today, June 11th 2012, there are plenty of vacationers enjoying playing volleyball, laying out in the sun, and walking along the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico.  “We have a saying here in Panama City Beach, ‘if you don’t like the weather wait 15 minutes’ as we usually don’t experience unfavorable weather for much more than that on any given day.  Much of the time when the forecast calls for rain we at the most will get a few minutes of rain then go back to either a cloudy or even a sunny day.” Says Colvin.  To see what the weather is really like on Panama City Beach you can check out the webcams that the Holiday Inn Resort offers on their website, www.hipcbeach.com.
