Bulldog Backup Launches Secure Business Online Backup

June 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Bulldog Backup , the UK based online backup company, announced today the launch of their new Business online backup solution for workstations, laptops and servers.

The company has been providing robust and reliable online backup for home users since 2010 and the move to provide a similar service for business users has been on the cards for some time according to CEO Douglas Fisher.

‘When I first started the company there was a real need for someone to provide a simple easy to use backup solution to allow even the average home user to backup their computer. Shortly after we started the business I saw the benefits of such a system for businesses’ however I was aware that a backup product designed for home use, while great for backing up music, pictures and school projects, simply wouldn’t cut it in the enterprise section of the market.’

Douglas and his team set about developing a business class backup and recovery solution in early 2011 with the focus being on security, a point which the CEO was keen to point out.

‘Business data is inherently different from home data in the fact that business data is often highly confidential. If you are going to store your own or your clients financial information, for example, you want to make sure that data is appropriately encrypted both in transit and at rest and in such a way that in the highly unlikely occurrence that it was obtained by outside sources it would be useless.’

One such way in which the company has increased the security of stored data is to allow users to set their own security key password. Using this method only the user has access to their security key which is needed to unencrypt the stored files. Just don’t lose that password as there is simply no way to recover it!

As well as allowing you to backup your business data to the cloud Bulldog Backup Business allows you to schedule backups to a local location such as an external hard drive or USB stick further increasing levels of redundancy.

Bulldog Backup Business is currently compatible with Windows Vista and above and supports Windows Small Business Server and Windows Home Server providing a secure method to backup your server online.
