     This tale revolves around the tangled affections between four youngsters. First, there is the protagonist of the tale, a daring Shalini with a weakness and craving for love. There is also an outright and funny Roshan, falling in and out of love by impulse. These two friends bring out the similarity between characters across genders while still standing unique in their own way. Now, there is a conservative Karan who is still two generations behind, trying to live and impose beliefs that are fast changing. And there is also an artistic brainer, Priya with her self-contradictory perceptions of feminism and marriage. She wishes to follow prejudiced rational conclusion, but often fall prey to social dogmas and conventions, and gets utterly confused.

With Love, Candy is more about the people in the story than the story itself. All of them are pooled together in a common field and seen through a neutral doll’s eye. The way the tale is told, would surely make the reader put his finger on his temple and think twice.

There is an all-pervading blend of wit with a pinch of lust, while in the side-lines addressing the social system in India, this story on human irregularities would sink in smoothly just like a spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down.
