June 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Humboldt Storage and Moving, the oldest moving company in Boston, a United Van Lines agent and experts in stress-free moving, has announced the first annual Humboldt Truck Pull to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts. The first-year event will be held on September 22 on the campus of Boston College.

Several other moving companies in Boston as well as teams of police, fire departments and other law enforcement including first responders are expected to participate. A minimum entry fee of $1,000 for a team of 10 individuals gets that team a spot at the event and the chance to pull the trucks.

Although teams are strongly encouraged to raise more money for the health and sports programs of Special Olympics Massachusetts.

How it works: All teams of 10 will have to pull all three vehicles which consist of a moving van, fire truck and a box style delivery truck. The team will need to pull all three trucks as fast as they can for 25 feet and the cumulative total with the lowest combined time will win the event.

Those interested can enter a team on the Humboldt Truck Pull website at: www.humboldttruckpull.com

“As a moving company in Boston, we are always looking for ways to make an impact here and we believe the athletes of Special Olympics deserve our support,” states James Sullivan, president of Humboldt Storage and Moving. “With our network and the extensive network Special Olympics has with law enforcement and others, we are confident we can build an event that will ultimately help support these incredible athletes.”

Registration is now open but limited to the first 30 teams. Those interested are encouraged to act soon and sign up for the Humboldt Truck Pull at: www.humboldttruckpull.com
