June 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Ayrshire, Scotland, 10 June 2012--Tom Eaves was the in form jockey at Ayr’s opening flat meeting of the season riding a treble on Blue Square Raceday, the second day of the May meeting.

The first leg of the threesome came with Argentine, trained by Ian Semple at Carluke, in the Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap (Div 1). Tom brought the 12/1 chance between horses and held on by three quarters of a length from the Linda Perratt trained Saxonette (25/1), the mount of PJ McDonald.

The second of the afternoon for Tom came on Silverware (5/1) for trainer Linda Stubbs in the Bet At Blue Square On Your Mobile Handicap. And Ian Semple provided the hat trick for the jockey when Burnwynd Boy (8/1) landed the See Pixie Lott Here – 22nd June Handicap – the gelding’s first win for 5 years.

Keeping the flag flying on Thursday were Semple’s fellow Scottish trainers Keith Dalgleish who saddled Circuitous (9/2) to win the Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap (Div 11) in the hands of Graham Gibbons and Jim Goldie whose Full Toss prevailed by a neck from Judicious in the Follow Us On Twitter@Bluesq Handicap at odds of 25/1 for Graham Lee.

And there was a ‘local’ winner on Thursday in the opening British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden when Hototo (11/8) owned by Ayr businessman Kenneth Macpherson, trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Phillip Makin, came in first.

Yorkshire based Scottish trainer Mark Johnston had a winner both days – his success on Wednesday came in the opening EBF Maiden on Party Royal (5/4 fav) and on Thursday with Galician (7/2) in the Bet At bluequare.com Handicap. Both horses were ridden by Mirco Demuro having his first ever rides at Ayr after basing himself in UK from his homeland Italy where he was 5 times the champion jockey.

The feature race on Wednesday, the Bet Mobile At BetVictor.com Handicap went the way of the Eric Alston trained, Kelly Harrison ridden Diman Waters(5/1 fav) and there was another Scottish trained double on the opening day for Hawick handler Alistair Whillans with Social Rhythm (7/2 co fav) landing the Best odds At BetVictor.com Fillies Handicap for PJ McDonald  and Vittachi (11/4) clinching the Watch Live Racing At BetVictor.com Handicap in the hands of Garry Whillans.

Judge Fraser Perratt had a difficult task in deciding the winner of the Play Casino At BetVictor.com Handicap with no fewer than five horses involved in the photograph. Ginger Jack (5/1) (pictured above) won for Geoff Harker and PJ McDonald.

Ayr next races on Friday 22 June and Saturday 23 June – STV Appeal Racenight and Scottish Sun Raceday respectively.
