June 10, 2012 - PRLog -- AGENDA MAGAZINE founder and editor in chief Kaylene Peoples and iRock Jazz (irockjazz.com) founder John Moultrie will be combining forces online.  This newfound pairing is a result of the expansion of the Indie Hotspot section in agendamag.com and the recent development of the new Indie Hotspot website, www.theindiehotspot.com.  As AGENDA MAGAZINE expands its reach to jazz lovers, this has become the ultimate synergy and perfect fit.

“The iRock Jazz community is made up of music lovers, artists, tastemakers, and lifestyle brands that have grown with the company over the years. It is a diverse global collective of individuals, united by a common belief in an appreciation for music, innovation, originality, and creativity. As the music industry evolves, iRock Jazz is devoted to creating new endeavors in marketing Jazz and to advance the ‘live social’ music experience,” states John Moultrie.

The mission of iRock Jazz fits so well with what has been created with AGENDA MAGAZINE and the Indie Hotspot.  An Agenda online publication, theindiehotspot.com was recently launched to spotlight local LA talent, which at the moment is heavily focusing on jazz.  iRock Jazz has a healthy passion for the genre and is a prolific content provider for jazz, as well as other related forms of music online.

“IRock Jazz will be very visible in each issue of AGENDA MAGAZINE. We have already featured articles and interviews of Jesse Campbell, Terence Blanchard, Angie Stone, Avery Sunshine, Gregory Porter, and René Marie.  The iRock Jazz writers Cheresa Purnell, Marsha J. Eaglin, Tracye Dee, Matthew Allen, and Monica Stanton offer outstanding interviews and articles of the current jazz scene,” adds Kaylene Peoples.

Established in Chicago in 1990, iRock Jazz started out of a genuine passion for music and launched the Jazz Oasis, jazz club, restaurant and bar.  “We promoted shows of our music heroes: artist such as Anita Baker, Nancy Wilson, Miki Howard, Art Porter, Phyllis Hyman, Hugh Masekela, Regina Carter, Fela and Branford Marsalis,” adds John Moultrie.  Twenty years later, iRock Jazz was born as a music and event marketing company that is the breeding ground, helping to introduce and break artists such as Robert Glasper, Jose James, Jill Scott, Ledisi, Roy Hargrove, Ben Williams, Angie Stone, Gregory Porter, Gerald Clayton, Erykah Badu, Layla Hathaway, Kyle Eastwood, Maurice Brown, Trombone Shorty, Stefon Harris, Etienne Charles, Esperanza Spaulding, Lizz Wright and René Marie.

Between Kaylene Peoples’ passion for the independent musician (she being a jazz entertainer herself) and John Moultrie’s love of music and talent (he is a Chicago-based entrepreneur), this West Coat/East Coast team will not only make quite an impression online and off, but also continue to support and promote the cause of jazz.
