June 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Greenwoodnursery.com announces the arrival of the Selaginella braunii. Commonly known as arborvitae fern, this semi-evergreen plant is not really a fern but a lycopod.

This primitive  moss like plant produces foliage that resembles arborvitae or cedar trees. Additionally called spike moss and club moss, the arborvitae fern is the natural choice for woodland areas, lightly to shaded gardens and terrarium plantings. The soft foliage makes it an excellent choice for containers or window planters. Mix with ferns or ground cover plants.

Plants are grown in 4-inch pots with large beautiful foliage that will add instant coverage. Arborvitae ferns grow best in moist, but well drained soil. Arborvitae ferns grow 6 to 12 inches tall with a 24 inch spread in zones 6 to 9. http://www.greenwoodnursery.com/page.cfm/162432
