Denver Boutique Owner Shares Secrets to a Wrinkle-Free Destination Wedding

It’s common that Brides and Mothers of the Bride/Groom arrive at the wedding destination only to find their wedding dresses and formals wrinkled from being packed. What to do?

June 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Owner of Paula’s Moms and Proms boutique, Paula Mitchell, has the solution to ease the wrinkles (and some of the stress) that come with destination weddings.

Smoothing out the Wrinkles in Your Wedding Dress and Formals

Here is a professional tip you can use that will save you the expense of getting your dress or formal pressed before your wedding:

1.   Upon arriving to your hotel room, immediately unpack your wedding dress or formal and let hang it in damp place. If you travel to a humid climate this is easy, but if not, turn shower on in bathroom to hot and create a little steam then hang your wedding dress or formal in the bathroom.

2.   Once steam has permeated through the fibers and the wedding dress/formal dress is moist, blow air with a back and forth motion at the wrinkles with a blow dryer.

3.   Remember:  this works well on chiffon, silk and lightweight fabrics only. Taffetas and heavier fabrics may need to be pressed with an iron: use your pillowcase cover as a pressing cloth, so the metal face of the iron does not touch, or scorch the dress.
