The Samsung Galaxy Note Combines Smartphone And Tablet

As one of the most unique smartphones currently available, the Samsung Galaxy Note provides a solution to those who want a smartphone and a tablet but only want one device.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 8, 2012 - As one of the most unique smartphones currently available, the Samsung Galaxy Note provides a solution to those who want a smartphone and a tablet but only want one device. In this post I will take a closer look at why many people consider this device to be a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is officially classed as a smartphone.  This is because it boasts plenty of features shared with other devices in this category.  For example, it has the highly popular Android operating system in its previous version called Gingerbread, although an update to their new Ice Cream Sandwich version is available.  This works in conjunction with the TouchWiz user interface, which is also found on Samsung's previous flagship smartphone the Galaxy S2, as well as its latest flagship the Galaxy S3.  Of course, this software package allows users to download apps from Google Play, which was previously known as Android Market, whilst there is also additional content available for download from Samsung Hubs. The handset also sports a dual-core processor, as most Android smartphones released over the last year or so do.

The touchscreen is arguably the most impressive feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note, and certainly its crowning feature. With its resolution of 1280x 800, it has the highest resolution of any smartphone, and coupled with its large size of 5.3 inches, makes it one of the most versatile smartphones round. The size of the screen is probably the biggest reason why many people consider it as a tablet as well as a smartphone. Most smartphone screens from the likes of Apple, LG, HTC and other Samsung phones measure from about 3.5 inches to 4.5 inches. This puts the Samsung Galaxy Note in a strange position; its screen is larger than any other smartphone, but smaller than the screen found on tablets like the Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab. This makes it suited to a range of different users.  For example, business users can take advantage of the large screen to easily edit spreadsheets, while multimedia users are able to enjoy high definition videos and games on the large high resolution screen.

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy Note ha the potential to appeal to a lot of different types of user, thanks to the versatility provided by many of its features, particularly its large screen.
