DETAILS:
“Base Camp I: Candidate Experience Best Practices”
An employer’s web-based career site is the most consistently used communication channel for candidates, and in light of the unbalanced ratio between the number of unemployed workers and job openings, employers may think that the candidate experience doesn’t matter. However, research shows that regardless of industry, economic conditions or the size of the employer, a positive candidate experience is valued deeply by job seekers.

During this session, Elaine Orler, president and founder of Talent Function Group and co-founder of The Talent Board, will review key findings from the Talent Board’s recent candidate experience research survey. Attendees of this highly interactive workshop will participate in instructional exercises designed to help them assess and refine their own organization’s candidate experience. Participants will receive an evaluation matrix of their current practices, a prioritized list of action items to improve the candidate experience and a complimentary copy of The Talent Board’s 2011 Candidate Experience research report.

“Occupy Recruiting: Building a Quality Centric Customer Vendor Collaboration Model for the Future”
In the last decade, technology and process innovations have transformed the way organizations find, assess and review candidates. Yet, the vast improvements in talent acquisition have not been without bumps and surprises. Today there are numerous challenges in vendor management and partnerships, such as the need to maintain proprietary components and competitive advantage in a sea of off-the-shelf solutions, rising technology and support costs and increasing concerns over privacy and access to information.

During this panel discussion, Orler joins several other industry experts to share their visions of the future of vendor and client relationships. The panelists will also address questions regarding best-in-class rules of engagement for vendor-customer collaboration; how to fully occupy sourcing and recruiting amongst the existing vendor-solution providers; how to prioritize resources; what “proprietary” and “competitive advantage” mean in a cloud-based era of open collaboration; and where the lines should be drawn regarding control and accountability.
