June 8, 2012 - PRLog -- World Superbike star Jonathan Rea has praised motorcycle insurance specialist Carole Nash for backing grassroots biking over the years.
The Castrol Honda rider said the company’s long track record of reinvesting in shows, runs, riders and clubs was a model other businesses should follow.
“When I was young, and early in my career, I used to go to motorcycle live at the NEC and I’d walk past the Carole Nash stand and go ‘wow, check out those bikes!’ it was a big deal for me. I’ve since found out that it’s not just the big shows but lots of small events, right down to local club raffles, that Carole Nash support. I love that they understand the passion which fuels motorcycling and are so committed to reinvesting in it, from the grassroots up. I wish more people ran their businesses like that.”
The 25 year-old race ace says he’s so impressed with the company’s commitment that he’s agreed to be an ‘ambassador’ for Carole Nash, which is one of the UK and Ireland’s biggest motorcycle insurance specialists. In his new role he will be communicating Carole Nash initiatives and news to his 30,000 Twitter followers, writing for its insidebikes e-zine and making public appearances.
“I’m really proud to be able to fly the Carole Nash flag in the world superbike championship and elsewhere. It’s an honour,” he enthused.
The Northern Irishman joins biking adventurer Nick Sanders and TV star Charley Boorman as Carole Nash ambassadors. His appointment has been welcomed by Carole Nash’s chief executive David Newman, who commented: “Jonathan is an exceptional talent and great role model. Here’s a man who has followed his passion and through skill, determination and commitment has become a podium regular and a fans favourite. It’s fantastic that he’s also now championing the Carole Nash cause.”
Born in Larne in 1987, Rea is regarded as one of the most talented young racers on the international circuit. He collected his first national title aged just  ten and then progressed from motocross to the British 125cc, Supersport and then British Superbike (BSB) championship in which he became the youngest rider to secure a pole position. Some 16 podium finishes and five wins earned him the runner up spot in the 2007 BSB before he switched to the World Supersport series and then the World Superbike. The 2012 season has got off to a promising start with wins at Assen and Donington to date and a total of ten World Superbike race wins to his name.
