iNovum and Government of Niger Partner with Queens College to Offer Business Training

June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Saratoga Springs, NY (June 8,2012) A landmark agreement between iNovum LLC , the Government of Niger and Queens College (CUNY) was signed on April 30th, 2012 for the intiation of the Niger Institute for Competitive Excellence  (NICE).  Among the signatories were:  Mamadou Youba Diallo, Minister of Secondary and Higher Education, Republic of Niger; Dr. Martin Braun, Dean, Insitute for Competitive Excellence of Queens College (CUNY) and Steve Onufrey, Founding Partner/Chief Operating Officer of the Institute for Competetive Excellence at  Queens College.

The visit was initiated, coordinated and lead by Mame Anne, an independent consultant for the advancement of education and scientific research in West Africa. Mr. Anne was born in West Africa and educated there and in the United States. He has extensive experience in scientific research in the United States. For 17 years, Mr. Anne has conducted numerous research projects using the award-winning science-based marketing concepts developed by Dr. Howard R. Moskowitz, Chairman of iNovum and Founder/President of Moskowitz Jacobs, Inc.

U.S. signatories were accompanied by John Donnelly, responsible for fundraising and public communications for three of New York’s major social service programs. He was a recent Senior Advisor for US Resource Mobilization to UN-Habitat, which is responsible for promoting and consolidating collaboration with all partners, including local authorities and private and non-governmental organizations in the implementation of the Habitat Agenda and the Millennium Development Goals of significantly improving the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers by the year 2020.

The new pedagogy embodied in the Institute is a blend of classic higher education in mathematics and hands-on labd using advanced market research technology that targets a commercial or social issues. The new teaching methodology can be embedded not only in a mathematics course, where the mathematical processes behind the technology is taught, but in almost any liberal arts course as well. By performing live surveys, students at the Institute learn quantitative analysis in context. Further, the NICE Institute courses will be designed to help Niger entrepreneurs, government workers and companies to determine the optimal application and use of Niger’s human and natural resources.

Based on the model of the Institute for Competitive Excellence (ICE) at Queens College, (City University of New York), the program uses a novel science-based marketing concept  called  Addressable Minds®  emplying the Mind Genomics ®  approach, which is a distillation of science and marketing principles that has expanded sales of many products world-wide, including Prego Spaghetti Sauce, Vlasic Pickles, Swanson Frozen Dinner, and Maxwell House Coffee.
ICE is the brainchild of Howard R.Moskowitz, an internationally recognized and award-winning experimental psychologist (BA, 1965, mathematics, Psychology,Queens College ; PhD,1969, Experimental Psychology, Harvard) in the field of psychophysics.  Dr.Moskowitz has published  20 books and more than 400 articles in the fields of food, financial services, public policy, and innovation tools, including the best-seller Selling Blue Elephants: How to Make Great Products that People Want Before They Even Know They Want Them.  The president of Moskowitz Jacobs, Inc., the market research firm he founded in 1981, he has won numerous awards – including the 2012 Edison Bronze Award for New Product –Applied Technology Research Tool for Mind enomics®and Sigma Xi’s 2010 Walston Chubb Award for Innovation, an award that honors creativity among scientists and engineers.  He also holds the 2005 Charles Coolidge Parlin Award from the American Marketing Association, considered the “Nobel Prize” of market research, for lifetime achievement.

The objective of the new pedagogy is to provide education with applied practicality to real work business and social issues that will enable students to provide immediate productive value to the workforce upon graduation. The new pedagogy contained in the Institute includes lectures, hands-on computer lab training, and homework assignments on how to successfully incorporate Addressable Minds®  into businesses to bolster their bottom line.  iNovum LLC and ICE at Queens College are currently in discussion with other countries and universities  to expand  the program world-wide to other universities and colleges.
