Indeed, in Silverstone Auctions previous two events held this year the 15 Porsche models on offer achieved an impressive 80 per cent sale rate, ranging from £6,050 to £204,600 in price.
This particular 911 model, estimated at between £34,000 to £38,000, is an early example of the ‘L’ (Luxe) specification and comes with an extensive servicing history, recently maintained by marque experts including Autofarm and Export 56.
The original right-hand drive car also arrives fresh from a bare metal respray and includes a detailed history file with receipts totalling more than £16,000. In addition, the engine was professionally rebuilt in 2008 and has completed only 6,000 miles since.
If that wasn’t enough, then the car is also offered with a current MoT test certificate and is ready for summer use.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “Porsche, perhaps more than any other marque, has performed particularly well at our recent auctions. Collectors appreciate they are a sound investment for the future, while enthusiasts continue to enjoy their good looks and driving performance.
“This stunning 911L is no different and offers the complete Porsche package. It’s great to drive and looks superb.”
The forthcoming auction takes place at Silverstone on Saturday 21st July as part of the Silverstone Classic weekend, the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival.
Other lots under the hammer will include competition cars, modern sports cars, timeless classics, motorbikes and automobilia. For more information about the Silverstone Classic Sale visit www.silverstoneauctions.com.
