Hall of Fame - Back-Small
At the helm of this special event is West Coast hip-hop impresario, Alonzo Williams, known as the “Godfather of West Coast Hip-Hop” and founding member of the “World Class Wreckin’ Cru”. He will present this exclusive red carpet event in conjunction with his birthday celebration, inviting legendary recording artists from the 80’s and 90’s, along with industry executives and tastemakers to join him.
Festivities will take place at “The Loft” (formerly known as “The Eve After Dark” nightclub) located at 12823 Avalon Blvd (inside the Avalon & El Segundo Entertainment Complex).
Red carpet begins at 8:30 p.m. and select guests will be treated to a VIP cocktail mixer featuring drink specials and hosted buffet until 9:30 P.M. The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 10 P.M. as this year’s chosen honorees receive accolades for their contributions to hip-hop music. The list of honorees is as follows:
Groundbreaker Award | Yo-Yo: Rapper, Actress, Philanthropist, Teacher
Hip-Hop Navigator Award | Dannie “Fut” James: Founder, Impact Record Pool
Hip-Hop Visionary Award | Roger Clayton: Founder, Uncle Jamms Army
Lifetime Achievement Award | Jai Rich: “Grand Godfather of West Coast Hip-Hop”, Teacher (Retired) Los Angeles School of Broadcasting.
Moving Mogul Award | Edwin Vaultz: Entertainment Financier, The Music People
Hustler of the Year Award | DJ JiJi Sweet: #1 Female All-Star DJ
Throughout the evening guests can look forward to a variety of live entertainment, including performances from 2nd II None and Medusa who will both preview new music.
