(Genesis Wind) installed its first generation 25 kW Linear Wind Turbine (LWT) System at its site on its leased property on the Arlington Mesa Industrial Park located in Arlington, Oregon.  This operational system is the foundation for testing its commercial product to be deployed in July of this year.  Genesis Wind is developing a “family” of products to address the growing needs of distributed power requirements throughout the world.  “Our current focus is on gearless and hybrid systems in the 5 – 25 kW range”, states Mr. Harry Lee, Founder and CEO.   “ Geneis Wind’s overreaching goal is to create value with a focused patent strategy (six patents issued - Korean PTO and four patents issued - US PTO) and designing innovative technology that meets the needs of customers through lowering the cost of wind energy in a distributed market.
With 90% of the system components being sourced or manufactured in Oregon, and with the design team based in Portland Oregon, Mr. Lee states that “ As the LWT is the least complex, lightest gearless system on the market we offer our system with a lifetime warranty on major parts.” A first for the wind industry!
As the company currently has six (6) full time employees the goal is to add another twenty (20) family wage jobs over the next twelve (12) months.
Mr. Lee sees the Portland and Arlington areas as ideal for maintaing manufacturing jobs in Oregon.  The Port of Portland and the Port of Arlington supports rail, trucking, shipping and air shipment for cost effective distribution of Genesis Wind products. “ We have been working with Genesis Wind throughout its development cycle and believe that the partnership between the County and the Company will provide a channel for adding the maufacturing, assembly and distrubution of wind systems in Arlington”, states Ms. Susie Anderson, County Planner for Gilliam County
