Trenton is an American radio broadcaster who many say is in a league of his own. He was a disc jockey on KROQ in Los Angeles from 1982-1993. He is best known for co-creating and hosting the evening Loveline radio talk show, now hosted by Dr. Drew. Trenton actually discovered and hired his then-co-host Dr. Drew Pinsky. The popularity of Love Line peaked at an astonishing 27 audience Share. At one point, his night time ratings were so high that his audience rivaled that of top morning shows.
The Poorman got his start as the local 'stoned' surf reporter who was the butt of jokes from the morning DJs on KROQ. From there, he became one of the station's most popular figures. He was fired from KROQ as a result of an on-air prank in 1993.
His moniker started when he published a slim paperback restaurant review called, The Poorman’s Guide To Gourmet Dining For Under Six Dollars. He claimed that food reviewing was a cheap way for him to get fed while he was an unemployed actor.
It has been a long and winding road for The Original "Poorman", now age 59, but nothing seems to stop him from pursuing the next radio gig.
