Law Firm wins personal injury suit in Porter County

June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Last week, The Law Office of Alan D. Naggatz won a three-day-long personal injury trial in Porter County Superior Court 2 under Judge Alexa. Alan D. Naggatz, an attorney out of Valparaiso, represented Plaintiff Megan Beckwith against Defendants Jeremiha Keene, Elizabeth Budka and State Farm Insurance. Beckwith was suing the
Defendants to cover damages after suffering a lumbar back injury in an automobile accident over five years ago. Neither driver nor vehicle owner had auto insurance, causing  Beckwith’s own insurance company, State Farm, to become a Defendant. State Farm challenged the nature and extent of Beckwith’s injuries, claiming she only suffered a strained back. Beckwith, who incurred medical expenses, pain and suffering due to the injury, was suing for past treatment costs as well as future treatment and pain and suffering.

During the three day trial, Attorney Naggatz was able to prove, through physician testimony and medical test results, the legitimacy of Beckwith’s injury. In a short hour and a half jury deliberation, the verdict came back in favor of the Plaintiff for $120,000, an amount in excess of her insurance coverage. After the winning verdict came back, Attorney Alan Naggatz stated that, “Winning this case brings justice and dignity to Ms. Beckwith, who wants to be pain free and pick up and hold her three year old daughter, but cannot because of the irresponsibility of others.”
