Akadema Endorser Bryce Harper Gets First Walk-Off Hit of His Career

June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Hawthorne, NJ – May 31, 2012 – Akadema endorser Bryce Harper made history on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, when he hit a walk-off single to give the Washington Nationals a win against the New York Mets.  Harper became the first teenager to get a walk-off hit since Gary Sheffield, who did it on Sept. 9, 1988.  Davey Johnson has been impressed with Harper since he came up. “He has been unbelievable since he has been here," Johnson said about Harper. "Almost every time up, a quality at-bat.” Johnson said.  The Nationals are now in first place in the NL East with a 31-22 record.  Harper has contributed so much to the Nationals lineup in his rookie season with a batting average of .282, 5 home runs, 14 RBI’s, 36 hits, 17 walks, 7 doubles, and 4 triples.  In 2010, Akadema signed Harper to a long-term glove contract, which was the same year he was drafted first overall in the MLB draft.  Harper uses an Akadema custom AMR 34 glove in the field.
