Former American Idol Finalist and Broadway Star to Perform at Malibu UNPLUGGED at The Sunset

June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Summer is in full swing on the beautiful Malibu coastline with the Malibu UNPLUGGED artists showcase every Thursday evening at The Sunset Restaurant and Beach Bar and Restaurant.

Up and coming, as well as established talent such as Carrie Jo, a finalist  in the top 30 of Season 6 on American Idol will perform as well as Broadway star Harley Jay, who played the lead role of “Mark” in RENT.

The showcase is a weekly preview of many talented performers, singers and songwriters that will be performing at the Malibu Music Awards & Festival September 17-22, at The Malibu Country Mart. This festival, is a charity benefiting the Malibu Symphony Association 501c3 and children’s music programs and community music efforts Past recipients include  Dick Van Dyke, Albert Lee, Kenny G, Colbie Caillat, Tom Petty, Pink, Grace Slick, Tanya Tucker, Joel Diamond, Johnny Mandel, Lee Ritenour, and Mort Lindsey.

All the fun begins at  5 p.m. and continues throughout the evening. Enjoy The Sunset Restaurant’s famous “Five at Five” gourmet happy hour menu from 5-7, amazing music and the best sunset in Malibu with a direct west facing view. The Sunset Restaurants captivating sunsets can’t be beat!
