June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- UkrAgroConsult General Director Sergey Feofilov has been invited to participate in the "Black Sea markets – towards greater transparency" workshop, which is held as a part of the «IGC Grains Conference 2012", where he will give a report «Key factors of agri markets volatility in the Black
Sea region».
IGC Grains Conference 2012 «World trade: What are the prospects for growth?» will be held on June 7, 2012 in the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London (http://www.igc.int/en/conference/confhome.aspx).

The membership of IGC is formed by the participants of the Grains Trade Convention (GTC). The members of the Grains Trade Convention include 27 countries and associations, including Ukraine.

Each year the Council holds two regular sessions, usually in June and December. Its duties are to oversee the implementation of the GTC, discuss the current state and prospects of the world grain market, as well as monitoring the changes in national grain policies and their impact on the market. On July 1, 2009 in the definition of grains contained in GTC rice was added, which now also includes information on oilseeds oilseeds. The Board may develop and sponsor grain projects in the participating countries, financed by the Common Fund for Commodities.

Current Grains Trade Convention (GTC 1995) is the latest in a wide range of multilateral cooperation agreements in force since 1949. GTC is applied to trade in wheat, feed grains (corn, barley, sorghum and other grains), and rice. It aims to further expand international cooperation in the grain trade, promote the development of the grain sector, strengthens openness and fairness of the grain sector, and should help to stabilize grain market and strengthen world food security. Achieving these goals is ensured by increasing market transparency through the exchange of information, research and consulting on grain market and changes in agricultural policy.
