$ 83.3 billion Tata group, today announced the launch of ‘IGNITE 2012‘– Design Contest – a contest that endeavors to provide a platform for future designers to develop ideas that will reshape the future. The contest is a part of ‘connect D’ - an annual event organized by Tata Elxsi to commemorate the World Industrial Design Day.
The theme of the contest this year is ‘Designing for Emerging Markets’. It intends to address how design can provide innovative solutions to address the inherent challenges and opportunities that exist amongst developing economies of the world.
Design students pursuing their full-time Graduate / PG courses can participate in the contest. Students can submit their entries in any of the two design disciplines of Product Design and Visual Design across the following categories –
Healthcare, Interactive Devices and Bottom of the Pyramid.
Winners (1 from Product Design and 1 from Visual Design) will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.25, 000 each along with a certificate from Tata Elxsi during the next connect D event which will be held on June 29, 2012. The winners will also get a chance to pursue an internship at Tata Elxsi as part of their course curriculum.
